                                                     Pinterest         Pinterest is a great tool to use. There are many things that you can find when searching on Pinterest. Pinterest is basically a virtual bulletin board that allows you to pin other people posts or even create your own. Pinterest allows you to connect with others and by following them and saving their pins. Pinterest is easily accessible and allows you to use it on your desktop or even a mobile device.       There are thousands of different subjects to search on PInterest. You can find inspiration for a quick and easy dinner to finding a new design for your bathroom.  I like to use Pinterest to find different crafts or worksheets for my students. If you are ever in need of a quick inspiration, give Pinterest a try!   

     In Chapter 6 of the Connected Educator, it is stated how important networking is. There are many ways to network with people and the most popular way to do so is through the internet. You can find many people in certain groups that interest you, whether it be a sport or your career. Twitter is one popular social media source for networking. Twitter can be a great way to connect with people who also have a career goal as a Speech Therapist.      The one section of Chapter 6 describes how to use Twitter Lists. You can start this by viewing profiles that match your interest. For example there is an account for teachers under Twitter4Teachers wiki. This site will help you find users that you want to follow as well as gain your own followers. Twitter4Teachers has grown tremendously.          For my app smackdown project I chose the app called handshake. Handshake is a career based app that can help you connect with potential careers as well as internships. Handshake is there to make your job search much more simple. Handshake focuses on college students as well as their career goals. Handshake encourages you to apply for positions that are geared towards your career.           The reason I chose handshake for my app smackdown presentation is because I thought that this would be helpful for many of us as we are college students who may be searching for internships, as well as a potential job opening in your specific career field.
